CIV 2017: Pirro conquers the Italian SBK Champion title

It was held last September 23 at Mugello the CIV race that crowned Pirro Italian SBK Champion. Born in 1986, Michele Pirro has carried high the flag of the team Barni Racing aboard his Ducati Panigale, in one of the races that will go down in the history of the Italian Speed Championship.

An unfortunate fall, in fact, cost him the last position. But it was not enough to stop the race of the king of Superbike: devouring the asphalt curve after curve, Pirro gained with his Ducati an advantage of about 4 seconds on his opponents, taking the top positions and winning the title of Italian SBK Champion.

The penultimate race of the CIV was therefore a painful challenge but it was worth the fifth title in his career for the rider, loyal to the Borgo Panigale factory. A competition that has kept the Barni team with bated breath until the last minute.

In Termignoni we feel this victory a little bit as ours: working alongside Pirro gives us a great sense of responsibility and it’s a great pride. Being able to share these successes with the Barni Racing team and with our historical partner Ducati makes us proud of the work we do every day.
